Dorthey (Dottie) Meyer, 97 of Marysville WA. passed away on 11-29-2020 at her daughterundefineds home Santa Maria, CA. where she chose to spend her last days with family. Every place she lived, she either planted or painted a garden. She was born Nov. 11, 1923 in Indianapolis, IN, to Paul and La Dora Ruby. Dorthey married Charles Meyer, U.S. Navy in 1942. Charlie was hired by the Boeing Co and moved the family from Indiana to Seattle in 1949. Charlie preceded her in death. They were married 68 years.
Dorthey was employed as an Illustrator for 17 years with the Boeing Co. in Everett. Dorthey enjoyed boating, RVing, traveling with Charlie, sewing, cake decorating, crafts, gardening and oil painting. Dottie was a member of Eagles, Power Squadron, Good Sams, Homemakers, Rosie the Riveter, Tops, and a member of the Free Methodist Church of Marysville.
She is survived by her son, Chuck Meyer and wife Patti, of Gilbert, AZ, daughter Diana Rawlings and husband Bob of Federal Way, WA, daughter, Cheryl Lenz and husband Brad of Santa Maria, CA, 10 grandchildren and 10 great- grandchildren and sister in-law, Patricia OundefinedNeal of Savoy, IL.
Dorthey was preceded in death by her husband Charles Meyer, daughter Deborah Powell, and great great grandson Bailee See.
A memorial service will be held in Everett, WA. in the summer of 2021
