Dorothy Juanita "Nita" Wise Bailey, age 86, died Saturday, November 9, 2019 in Clayton, New Mexico. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Mountain Time on Friday, November 15, 2019 at the Nara Visa Community Center in Nara Visa, New Mexico with Rev. Kenneth W. Tidmore, pastor of the First United Methodist Church in Clayton, New Mexico officiating. Burial will follow in the Nara Visa Cemetery by Hass Funeral Directors of Clayton. Nita Wise Bailey was born on February 28, 1933 in Amistad, New Mexico to Sager Brewster and Leah (Steen) Brewster. A lifelong resident of the Nara Visa area community, Nita was a long time member of the Nara Visa Community. She worked in the cafeteria at the Amistad school for many years and served as president of the Nara Visa Community Center for 30 years. Nita also served as the church secretary for 40 years. She was very active in the Nara Visa Community and all the surrounding area. Nita loved to be a ranchers wife and she loved to play the piano. Nita was preceded in death by her parents, 2 husbands, William Keith Wise and Robert Bailey, 10 brothers and sisters, 1 daughter, Ilean Wise, 1 son, Larry Wise, a great-granddaughter, Dakota Hazen and a great-great-granddaughter, Bella Villanueva. Nita is survived by 1 sister, Naoma McCormick of Enid, Oklahoma. 3 grandchildren, Tracy Hazen (Randy Singleterry) of Nara Visa, New Mexico, Rachelle Hazen of Amarillo, Texas and Shad Stephens of Dalhart, Texas, 3 great-grandchildren Delani Davis (Jonathan), Rebecca Trujillo and Derik Ray. 4 great-great-grandchildren, Elijah Davis, Ethan Davis, Cruz Villanueva, Alayna Trujillo and one more on the way and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family asks that memorials be made in Nita's memory to the Alzheimer's Association.
