At the age of 85, Dorothy Louise Bollinger Biggs, affectionately known as Dot, passed away surrounded by her family members on Monday, October 18, 2021. She is in her heavenly home rejoicing with Jesus and reuniting with her father, Lee Bollinger, mother, Nora Davis and two sisters, Joan Vick and Mary Murdock. Dot embraced education, had high standards and lived a life of integrity. She attended Hardin Simmons and graduated Magna Cum Laude from Baylor with an education degree which allowed her to be very active in the field of teaching and education for the rest of her life. For over 25 years she taught English at Lake Highlands High School where she was named the Ross Perot Teacher of the Year.She mentored and provided lifelong influences to many. Upon retiring,Dot received several volunteer awards from the Texas Retired Teacher Association. Dot was the parliamentarian and president of both Delta Kappa Gamma and Richardson Retired Teacher Association. She was an avid volunteer for Dallas Stew Pot, the Bridge, and Meals on Wheels. Dot passionately served as an elder, deacon, and adult Sunday school teacher at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church. Dot is survived by her husband of 65 years, Harold Biggs, children, Greg Biggs, Laura Bakken and husband, Glen, her grandchildren, Chad and Marc Biggs, Mason Bakken and wife, Brooke, Mandy Bakken, and great granddaughter, Piper Biggs. Dot's Celebration of Life will be Saturday, October 30 at 2:00 at St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church, 1220 W Belt Line Rd, Richardson, Tx. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Barnabas Presbyterian Church of Richardson or Davis Family Elder Care, 185 Chinn Chapel Rd., Double Oak, TX, 75077.
