Dorothy Hope Lindon, 74, of Milford, NH passed away on Friday, October 1, 2021 after a long illness. She was born April 3, 1947, at Camp Lejeune in Jacksonville, NC to parents Jack Nickles and Marjorie Hope (Soule) Lindon. On her maternal side she leaves a large extended family, which includes uncles, aunts and numerous first and second cousins. Her Soule ancestry has been traced to the landing of the Mayflower. She was especially close to her first cousin Kathleen Soule who was involved in her later care.
Dorothy graduated from Wakefield Memorial High School, Wakefield, MA and Lowell State College, Lowell, MA majoring in voice and education. She had a beautiful voice and loved to sing. For many years she worked as a master of ceremonies and singer at the Balsams Resort in Colebrook, NH. She also sang as a professional choir member for local New Hampshire churches where she organized and directed Christmas concerts.
Later in her career she spent nearly two decades working for Phil Carver & Friends as a book designer and technical illustrator. In 2014 she ran for a seat the New Hampshire House of Representatives as a progressive Democrat.
Dorothy was a very spiritual person. She was a member of the Unitarian Universalist Church in Milford. She was also interested in learning about other religions including Buddhism and was heavily involved in Native American religions and culture.
She is predeceased by her parents Jack and Marjorie Lindon and her brother Sanford Kimo Lindon. She is survived by her brother Jack Nelson Lindon and his wife Francia of Milton, GA and Sanford's wife, Jamie Penney of North Reading, MA.
Her family wishes to thank the staff of the Crestwood Center, Milford, NH for their wonderful constant attention to Dorothy's needs.
