Loving mother to Kenneth (Terry), and Phyllis Lawless (Peter). Fond sister of Maryann, late sisters Rita, Judy, and Barbara, and late brother Neil. Wonderful grandmother to Christopher, Jennifer, Caroline, and great-grandmother to Colt, Lucas, and Emily.
Dorothy, better known as Dottie, spent her early years in Hempstead, NY where she met Philip Kuski, of the Hempstead NY Police Department, and was married in 1954. They would move to North Massapequa, NY, and raise their family. Dottie and Phil traveled extensively over the years and enjoyed many cruises with friends.
Dottie was a human resources administrator at Hofstra University for 20 years before she retired and moved from North Massapequa, NY to Rhinebeck, NY, and eventually to Sanford, NC, and Jacksonville, FL. While Dottie enjoyed cooking family meals, especially on holidays, and painting, her passion was spending time with family and friends.
While in Sanford, NC, Dottie devoted much of her time volunteering at Helping Hands Clinic where she devoted countless hours helping the underserved suffering from chronic illness. Both Phil and Dottie were devout parishioners at Saint Stephen the First Martyr Catholic Church of Sanford where they formed many lasting friendships.
