CHELMSFORD, MA- Dorothy Emily "Dot" (Green) Gallo, age 90, a resident of Chelmsford, MA and former resident of Waltham, MA Cape Cod, MA, and The Villages, FL died peacefully on Friday, January 28, 2022 at the High Pointe Hospice House in Haverhill, MA. She was the beloved wife of the late Albert Gallo who died in 2011.
She was born in Laurel, Mississippi on December 18, 1931, and was a daughter of the late Henry and Mildred G. (Colson) Green and sister of the late Henry Green.
Dot spent most of her life tending to the needs of her home and family. She also worked for many years as a waitress.
She was a former parishioner of St. George Episcopal Church in Lady Lakes, FL and a member of the Cape Codders Club and Red Sox Nation, both in The Villages, FL.
Dot enjoyed playing golf, dancing, and spending time at the gym.
She is survived by two sons, Steven Gallo and his wife Nicole of Kearney, MO and Alan Gallo and his wife Kimberly of Chelmsford, MA; two daughters, Heidi Cotoni and her husband Michael of Kingston, NH and Lori McKiel and her husband Scott of Dracut, MA; seven grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
It being Dot's wish, there will be no visitation and services will be private. Burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. In lieu of flowers, donations may be in Dot's memory to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St.Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
