Dorothy Beatrice Durgan, 93, wife of the late Oliver Durdan passed away on Tuesday, July 5, 2022 at Sheridan Woods Nursing Home after a short illness. Born in Hartford, CT on December 29, 1928 she was the daughter of the late Albert and Sophia (Raczkowski) Yedziniak. She had resided in Berlin, CT and had graduated from Meriden High School. Mrs. Durgan was employed by United Technologies. She was a parishioner of Sacred Heart in Berlin, CT.
Dorothy is survived by her two daughters, Gina Hammond and her husband Jeffrey of Sinking Spring, PA and Melanie Durgan and her partner Michael Karpey of Meriden, CT; three stepsons, Richard Durgan of Meriden, CT, Jeff Durgan of Florida and Toby Durgan of Southington, CT; two grandchildren, Heather Challenger and her husband Christopher Grasso, and Paul Merrill and his wife Lauren. She is also survived by her five great grandchildren, Olivia Merrill, Emma Merrill, Morgan Challenger, Toby Merrill and Madeline and her sister Helen Sheppard. Dorothy was predeceased by her sisters, Carolyn Rybak, Jane Lewoc, and Barbara Supranovich; her brothers Walter Yedziniak, Edward Yedziniak, and Joseph Yedziniak and her grandson Toby Merrill.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a later date at Sacred Heart Church, 66 Cottage St., East Berlin, CT 06023. Arrangements are under the direction of the John J. Ferry & Sons Funeral Home, 88 E. Main St., Meriden, CT 06450. For online condolences, please visit jferryfh.com.
