Dorothy I. Cordts, age 96, passed away on Tuesday April 23, 2024, at Boscobel Care & Rehab. Dorothy was born on July 20, 1927; the daughter of Harry and Myrtle (McVay) McLimans. She attended and graduated from Fennimore High School. On November 3, 1949, Dorothy was united in marriage to Clifford "Nipper" Cordts. He preceded her in death in 1996.
Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Fennimore. She and Clifford made their home and raised their children in Fennimore. She worked at Rayovac for 30 years before she retired. Dorothy was an exceptional cook and baker. She enjoyed spending time in her beautiful flower gardens and never passed an opportunity to go shopping. She had a huge spot in her heart for her family, especially her grandchildren. She looked forward to spending time with each of them.
Dorothy is survived by her children: Dennis (Cindy) Cordts, Steve Cordts, Greg Cordts, and Susan (Bill Sweeney) Cordts; daughter in-law, Robin Cordts; seven grandchildren: Leslie (Troy) Larson, Jodi (Tory) Needham, Kelly (Cary) Miller, Casey (Justin) Goodrich, Cody Cordts, Bobbie (Jason) Rogers, and T.J. Monroe; and 11 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; son, David Cordts; grandson, Jesse Cordts; great granddaughter, Rylie Needham; and sister, Viola Nodolf.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2024, at Larson Family Funeral Home in Fennimore. Burial will be in Prairie Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday, at the funeral home. Following the committal service at the cemetery, the family invites everybody to join them for food and fellowship at Hickory Grove Golf course. Dorothy's family would like to express their gratitude for the staff at Boscobel Care & Rehab for their wonderful care over the years. They would also like to thank the staff with St. Croix Hospice for their compassionate care during Dorothy's last days.
