Dorothy M. Blake, daughter of the late Frederick and Rhea Klose, went home to be with Jesus on August 18, 2020.
Dorothy was born in Johnstown, NY on February 16, 1918. She attended public schools and was a graduate of Johnstown High School.
She was married to Sydney E. Blake on October 2,1937 and together they had two children.
Dorothy worked until retirement for Gates Mills Glove Factory in Johnstown as a bookkeeper.
She loved to shop, travel and work in her gardens. Her sense of humor and wit were with her to the end.
Dorothy was predeceased by her husband Sidney, daughter Joan Blake Chapin, and sons-in-law, Al Chapin and Dale Oles.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Oles of Guilford, VT, grand children Daniel Oles and Noreen Lake also of Guilford, Deborah and Bill Black of Camp Hill, PA and Rebecca and Dwayne Brown of Oneonta, NY.
She is also survived by 7 great grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Burial will be in Fern Dale Cemetery in Johnstown, NY on October 2, 2020 at 11:00 AM. Great nephew Jeffery Persch will preside over graveside services with music by nieces Linda Bronk and Norene Persch.
