Funeral service for Mrs. Dorothy Agnes Beaty, 93 of Carthage, Texas will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, September 27, 2022, at the Hawthorn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Freddy Mason, Saul Petty, and Rick Linebarger officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Hawthorn Funeral Home. A time of visitation will be held an hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Dorothy Agnes Garland Beaty was born on Saturday, December 29, 1928, in Tenaha, Texas to parents Linwood Garland and Katie Mae McDaniel Garland. She passed this life peacefully on Saturday, September 24, 2022, surrounded by her loving family in Carthage.
Agnes was raised and schooled in Tenaha. She worked as a Methods Technician for Texas Instruments and after her retirement she attended Panola College to become a licensed cosmetologist. Mrs. Beaty adored her family and being able to spend time with them. She loved to spend time studying her Bible, cooking for everyone, and playing piano. She enjoyed sewing, quilting, painting, and needle point.
She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 30 years, Wylie "Bob" Beaty, brothers; Rudolph and Murl Garland, and Lamar and Gladys Garland; sister, Linnie Lawless and Essell Lawless.
Mrs. Beaty is survived by her son, Travis Lovil and wife Vicki of Carthage; daughters, Judy Taylor and husband Mike of Pittsburg, and Patsy Shirey and husband Truman of Carthage; grandchildren, Randy Winchester and Penny Bynum, Leigh Ann and Stephen Elliott, Susanne and Nick Barber, Kristi and Jessie Ebey, Traci Shirey, Shannon Edwards and Erik Lovil; great grandchildren, Nick and Katie Norton, Yuriana Ebey, Zoee Ebey, Valerie and Scot Walker, Ciara Ebey, Victoria Ebey, Sydney Ebey and Enzo Oliva Jr, Hunter and Alicia Elliott, Tanner and Harley Elliott and Physher Elliott; three great great grandchildren, Juliette, Elijah and Corlie. Numerous other nieces, nephews and a host of friends also survive Mrs. Beaty.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff at Heartsway Hospice and Marian Place for the exceptional care that was given to her over the past 6 years.
Serving as pallbearers will be W.A. Wedgeworth, Randy Winchester, Erik Lovil, Jimmy Dale Dunn, Stephen Elliott, Nick Barber, and Barry Marshall. Honorary pallbearers will be Jerry Morris, Robert Williams, Jessie Ebey and Grady Bill Wedgeworth.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks donations be made to Bethlehem Cemetery, Cedar Grove Baptist Church or Heartsway Hospice of Carthage.
