Dorothy Atkins

Dorothy Lloyd Atkins, 70, of Marvin, NC, formerly of Owings Mills, MD, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2022. She was born in Greensboro, NC to the late James I. Lloyd and Norma P. Lloyd. Dorothy relocated to North Carolina in 2021 to be closer to her family. She was a health care provider for over 40 years which included time as a nurse practitioner at University of MD Hospital and with private practices.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter, Erika Atkins Gowder and husband, Kurt; her grandsons, Drew P. Whitley and Ethan J. Whitley; her sister, Cynthia L. Creekmore; her brother, James I. Lloyd, Jr. and wife, Stephanie; her nieces, Olivia C. Miller, Hanna R. Creekmore, McKenzie L. Lloyd; nephews, Matthew M. Lloyd, Gregory B. Lloyd; and several great nieces.

There will be a Celebration of Life in the Baltimore area this fall.
