Help us celebrate Dorota! Please share your stories and photos, and invite others who remember Dorota.
It is with profound sorrow that we announce the passing of Dorota M. Zak on July 29, 2024, at the age of 56. A cherished mother, grandmother, daughter, sister and devoted educator, Dorota left us unexpectedly, while in recovery from a serious accident.
Born on May 11, 1968, in Olsztyn, Poland, Dorota was a vibrant soul whose life was characterized by commitment to her family and her passion for teaching. She is a graduate of the University of Warmia and Mazury in the Higher School of Education. Dorota was dedicated to educating young children, a vocation she embraced with enthusiasm and kindness. Over her 30-year career she taught hundreds of kids how to love others and how to love themselves.
She is survived by her children, Pawel Siwinski, Paulina Drahotussky (and husband Honza), and Jan Siwinski; her mother, Zenona Zak-Narozniak and stepfather, Kazimierz Narozniak; her grandchildren Alexandra, Adam and Antoni; her sister Magdalena Narozniak (and husband David Dal Zin) and many friends, in particular Viorel Bratu, who are left to navigate the pain of her loss while holding onto the cherished memories of her love, her laughter, and her compassionate spirit.
Friends and family may call at the Cromwell Funeral Home, 506 Main Street, Cromwell on August 5 from 5:00 pm to 7:00pm. She will be laid to rest at New Britain's Sacred Heart Cemetery in a private service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to your local animal shelter to honor her love for animals.
Rest in peace, Dorota. Your light will forever shine brightly in our hearts, and your smile will always be with us.
