Doris "Dossie" Ann Twombly was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. She left this world suddenly on March 18 at age 74 at Portsmouth Regional Hospital. She was born to Armand and Yvonne Gagnon on November 9, 1948 in Exeter, NH. She lived her years in Epping NH. Doris graduated in 1966 from Watson Academy in Epping. During her high school years, Doris was an avid athlete playing softball, volleyball and she also enjoyed being on the cheer team. Doris met her husband James Twombly in the summer of 1966 and they were married in Epping in 1969. After they were married, they moved to Nottingham NH where they resided at the same residence at the time of Doris' passing. They had many great years in Nottingham, raising two daughters and entertaining family and friends.
Doris' career path started in Epping where she worked at the local shoe factory. She ended her career working for Osram Sylvania in Exeter, NH where she was employed for 30 years and retired from there. To her family, Doris was known as Mom, Grammy and Auntie, but most of her friends knew her as Dossie. She had many friends that she enjoyed laughing and spending time with. Doris would strike up a conversation with just about anyone! Her grandchildren will remember her best as the "fun grandparent" and the one that was always trying to give them a big kiss or fun gift. She was ever present in the lives of her children and grandchildren, regularly babysitting, attending school events and sports games. She enjoyed her time in Nottingham attending weekly Tuesday night car shows with her husband and touring the town in the summer visiting friends in their golf cart with her beloved dog Annie.
Doris is survived by her husband, James Twombly of Nottingham, daughters Lisa Lombardi and husband Dan Lombardi of Stratham NH and daughter Lori Coffin and her husband Craig Coffin of Falmouth, ME, Her grandchildren, Brett, Ella and Connor Coffin and Tommy & Lily Lombardi.
