Doris Leckrone Ogden, a resident of Palm City, Florida since 1986, died peacefully on Monday, January 11, 2021.
Dorrie was born in York, PA, the youngest of three children of George Herbert Leckrone and Catherine Eisenhart Leckrone.
She graduated from North York High School in 1947. On April 1, 1950, she married William Robert Ogden and began her life as a wife and homemaker. Bill's job with Aetna Life and Casualty Co. transferred them around the country where she made wonderful friends along the way.
Dorrie was an avid golfer and bridge player. She loved to travel, read and sing - early on, in a Girls Trio in school, covering the Andrews Sisters hits of the day, and later, in church choirs.
Dorrie is survived by her children, Deborah Ogden and her husband Jim Grant of Ft Collins, CO; Mike Ogden and his wife Page, of Bend, OR; Katie Meir and her husband Edward of Darien, CT; and her five grandchildren, Jen Stephens, Josilyn and Grace Ogden, Nicole and Natalie Meir.
She is predeceased by her husband William Ogden and her siblings Joe Leckrone and June Leckrone.
Her ashes have been placed next to those of her husband, in the Memorial Garden at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Palm City. Her family held a private memorial service. Donations may be made in her memory to Immanuel Lutheran Church, 2655 SW Immanuel Drive, Palm City, FL 34990. Arrangements have been entrusted to Martin Funeral Home Stuart, FL.
