Doris Miner, of Manhasset New York, and Hobe Sound, Florida, passed peacefully last Thursday at the age of 90, from natural causes. She was predeceased by her parents Alvin and Elizabeth Wells, brother Alvin Jr and sister Joan. Born in Brooklyn, and a graduate of Smith College, Doris was one of the first women to work as a professional in Standard Oil's Marketing department. After the birth of her son, she relocated to Manhasset, NY, and earned her Master's Degree in Elementary Education from CW Post. She proceeded to teach at the John J Daly elementary school in Port Washington, NY for the remainder of her career. After her retirement, she enjoyed world travel, snorkeling, and golf - with two hole-in-one's to her credit. Throughout her life, she was always caring, often asking what she could do for anyone and would never hesitate to help someone if she was able. Doris is survived by her cherished son Brewster and daughter in-law, Erika, adored grandchildren Richard and Elizabeth, and sister in-law Joyce Wells. A private memorial to celebrate her life will be held with her family
