Mrs. Doris M. Hart, 90, of Seymour, passed away peacefully at home on Saturday, October 17, 2020. She was born in St. Louis, Missouri on August 31, 1930 to Harris H. Hoffmann and Dorothy E. Wilson Hoffmann. On March 9, 1957, she married the love of her life, Donald Hart; he preceded in her in death on February 19, 2003.
Doris was a member of Central Christian Church. She loved dogs and enjoyed reading. When her husband was alive, the family traveled every weekend on camping and boating trips. In her later years, she and her daughter enjoyed traveling to the zoo or malls and lived the nomadic lifestyle.
Doris began her career in medical billing with Dr. Baxter's office. When the office closed, she moved to Drs. Bevers and Weir's office where she retired after more than 30 years of service.
Doris is survived by her daughters, Sherry Lee Scott, Robin Ann Gaffney; grandchildren, Nicholas Craig Scott and his wife Trista, and Evan Kyle Gaffney and his wife Ranae; great-grandchildren, Claira Stout, Jayden Stout, Nick Johnson and Emilee Gaffney.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; grandson, John W. Gaffney, Jr.; and son-in-law, John W. Gaffney, Sr.
Funeral services will be conducted by Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday, October 21 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Ben Yee officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery. Masks are respectfully required when entering and at all times within Voss & Sons Funeral Service.
Family and friends may call at Voss & Sons Funeral Service on Wednesday after 12:00 noon until time of service.
