Doris Tegler Gmber, 91, of Murrells Inlet , SC, formerly of Conway, SC, Eldersburg, MD and Owings Mills, MD, died on Tuesday, October 19, 2021. She was born in Baltimore, MD, to the late Herman and Margaret Tegler.
Doris enjoyed sewing and gardening. She spent a lifetime organizing family photo albums. Doris loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a member of Wards Chapel United Methodist Church in Randallstown, MD. She was a proud member of Job's Daughters in her youth and did become "Honored Queen". After graduating Forest Park High School in Baltimore, MD in 1948, she worked as a secretary for Piper and Hill Realtors until having her family.
In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her loving spouse of 71 years, Charles George Gamber Sr.; one sister, Mary Tegler Woodruff; one grandson, George Gamber III and one granddaughter, Abby Gordon.
Survivors include her son, George (Pam Beam) Gamber Jr. of Westminster, MD; two daughters, Peggy (Bill) Clarke of Louisville, TN and Patricia (Larry) Gordon of Murrells Inlet, SC; Eight grandchildren and one step-grandchild; Kimberly Crouch Delahanty of Kernersville, NC, Rebecca Crouch of Knoxville, TN, Brandon Forrest Clarke of Maryville, TN, Craig Gordon of Myrtle Beach, SC, Carlie Gordon Dorsey of Murrells Inlet, SC, Christopher Gamber of Ocean View, DE, Step-granddaughter Courtney Beam of Lansdowne, MD; . eight great-grandchildren and one step-great grandchild; Jacob and Katelyn Delahanty of Kernersville, NC, Lyla and Connor Gordon of Myrtle Beach, SC, Rowen, Caylin and Jonah Dorsey of Murrells Inlet, SC, Step-great grandson Braedyn Freeman of Lansdowne, MD and many special nieces and nephews.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Angelic Hospice Care, Hospice Nurse, Mary Wilson, RN and Griswold Home Care, Home Health Aide, Kristen Mosser.
In lieu of flowers the family has request that a memorial contribution be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation of America at www.alzfdn.org and/or favorite charity of choice.
A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM, Saturday, November 20, 2021 at Wards Chapel UMC, 11023 Liberty Road, Randallstown, MD 21133, with interment to follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens, 2800 Old Westminster Pike, Finksburg, MD 21048.
