Doris was born September 26, 1919 in Kansas, USA, and died August 24, 2020. Doris grew up in Casper Wyoming with her sister Maxine. She was very close to her father. She learned carpentary and many skills from her father. She built her own cabin in Highway 50 by Sierra Ski Ranch with her friend Ruth. Doris was an avid skier in her youth.
Doris was very active in the National Business and Professional Women. She met her best friend of close to 50 years Marian Ash in BPW. They traveled extensively throughout the United States and had many wonderful adventures together. They volunteered to do programs for unwed mothers and help young women develop careers or pursue further education.
Doris and Marian ran DashMar Publishing. Doris was an exceptional graphic artist and Marian an Artist and Writer. They published a number of books and pamphlets regarding The equal rights Amendment and Women’s History and Rights.
Marian and Doris were extremely patriotic and both had proudly served America during the War. They always celebrated the 4th of July.
Marian died in 2006. They had shared a home together since 1968.
Doris is buried in Sacramento Valley National Cemetery in Dixon, California, USA.
