Funeral Service for Donna M. Aros, 75, will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023, at St. Paul United Methodist Church. Kristi Calhoun and Rachel Scott Marshall will be officiating. Visitation will be at St. Paul United Methodist Church from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Monday, November 20, 2023, and 10:00-11:00 a.m. Tuesday, November 21, 2023. She was born March 13, 1948, to the late Walter and Marjorie Jay.
Donna was a member of the KFTC (Kentuckians for the Commonwealth) and other social justice organizations. She was a graduate of LPTS (Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary) and of Michigan State. Donna loved gardening, cooking, and bell ringing at church. She was active in helping with Vacation Bible School. Donna was director of childcare at Sonora United Methodist Church, very active at Cave City United Methodist Church, Dean of Home in The Woods at Camp Loucon, and a Girl Scout Troop Leader for her daughter Sara's troop. She was an ordained elder in the United Methodist Church in Kentucky and served as pastor at churches in Stephensport, Cave City, Louisa, Gallup, and most recently here, in Frankfort. She served as a board member of the Kentucky Council of Churches. Donna lived a full life and touched so many people's lives along the way. She will be extremely missed.
Donna is survived by her husband of 51 years, George Aros; daughter, Sara Brown; sons, Alexander "AJ" Aros, Anthony "Tony" Aros; sister, Carol (Dan) Rondini; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and many loved friends. She was preceded in death by her parents.
