Donald R. Wilson 92 of Greenwood, IN., former sixty one year resident of Franklin, IN. passed away Tuesday, June 18, 2019 at Otterbein Franklin Seniorlife Community. He was born November 26, 1926 in Greensburg, Decatur County, Indiana to Roscoe Jacob Wilson and Mary Louisa (Buchanan) Wilson. He married Rachel Geneva (Michael) Wilson on October 14, 1949 in Franklin, IN., she survives. He was a field service engineer for the Ford Motor Company in Indianapolis, Indiana for thirty seven and half years retiring in 1996. He previously had been a mechanic at Earl Wilson's Service Station in Franklin. He was a member of Franklin Masonic Lodge #107 where he had served as Past Master in 1966. He was a United States Army Veteran having served in France during World War II. Survivors include his wife Rachel Geneva (Michael) Wilson of Greenwood, IN., a daughter Donna Jo Hendley and son in law Paul R. Hendley of Indianapolis, IN., two grandsons Paul Ryan Hendley and his wife Gabrielle "Gabbi" Hendley of Lake Forest, NC. and Scott Michael Hendley of Indianapolis, IN., a great granddaughter Mira Hendley, eight nieces, five nephews, and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister Alice Louise Mounts, brother in laws Raymond Kirts and Donavan Mounts, and two nephews. Allen Michael will conduct a service on Saturday, June 22, 2019 at 1:30 PM at Swartz Family Community Mortuary and Memorial Center 300 South U.S. 31 (Morton Street) in Franklin, IN. where friends may call from 12 Noon on Saturday until service time at the mortuary. Burial will be in Greenlawn Cemetery in Franklin with military honors conducted by the U.S. Army Honor Guard. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.swartzmortuary.com.
