Donald L. Wampole, 74, of Marshall, passed away at his home on Friday, December 15, 2023.
Don was born on February 25, 1949, in Augusta, Wisconsin, the son of Royce and Mabel (Lovicott) Wampole. Don married the love of his life, Vivian (James) Wampole, on May 26, 1989, and was married until her death in 2022. Don worked for McKay Nursery Company for over 41 years, retiring in 2009. During retirement he spent his time driving school bus, fishing with his grandchildren, and watching his grandchildren play sports. He loved cheering on his beloved Minnesota Vikings, THE Ohio State Buckeyes and the Cincinnati Reds. In his free time, he loved to garden and was always proud of his produce and flowers. He also liked "going fishing" (Friday night fish fry) and having breakfast with his friends and co-workers.
Don is survived by his daughters, Brenda (Wayne) Kazynski, Kelly (Tim) Sullivan and Stephanie (Jay) Royle; grandchildren, Cory Kazynski, Kayla Kazynski, Cassidy Kazynski, Caden Sullivan, Madisen Sullivan, Isabel Royle and Sophia Royle; great-grandchildren, Carter and Aydin Kazynski. He is also survived by his siblings, Shirley (Gary) Schroeder, Dave (Diana) Wampole, Duanne (Ruth) Wampole, Darrell Wampole, Dan (Marie) Wampole, and Sherry Brooks. He also leaves behind many in-laws, nieces, nephews, other family members and friends.
Don is preceded in death by his wife; parents; sister, Susie; and a grandchild, Gracie Sullivan.
There will be a Celebration of Life for both Don and Vivian Wampole on Saturday, January 27, 2024, from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m., at The Round Table, 1611 N. Bristol Street, Sun Prairie.
