Donald Richard Ueltschi passed away peacefully on Monday, March 21 at the age of 90. He was a resident of Orange Beach, AL and Helen, GA.
Don was born in Utica, NY in 1931. He earned a degree at Cornell University in Geology and also received a Masters Degree from Michigan State University in Criminology. A retired 30 year Army LTC, he served in Korea, fought in Vietnam and in addition to the US, was also stationed in Germany, Iran and Panama.
Don saw joy in everything. He will be remembered for his wonderful sense of humor, contagious smile and warm generosity. He never met a stranger and was respected, revered and loved by all. He will be greatly missed by everyone but especially his family because he was the greatest Father ever.
He is predeceased by his wife of 65 years, Miriam Scott Ueltschi, and survived by his three children Cynthia (Wayne) Day, Karla (Quad) Thornton, and Richard (Dona) Ueltschi, 4 grandsons, 5 great-grandsons, and 2 great, great granddaughters.
A Memorial Service will be held Friday April 29, 2022 at 2 PM in the chapel of Georgia Memorial Park Funeral Home. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow in Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery.
