Donald Wayne Stanley passed away at his home on May 18, 2021, surrounded by his loved ones. Don was born August 21, 1950 in Port Arthur, Texas, to Sidney and Cynthia Lenora Stanley, the third of four sons. Don was a graduate of Sam Houston State University and received his bachelor's degree in Psychology. He worked at Kirby Forest Industries and LP (Louisiana Pacific) in his younger years. Then his interests and passion led him to employment at Gulf Coast Trades Center as a social worker, and then for the state of Texas as a parole officer. Don also worked as a mechanic and a carpenter. Don loved the outdoors and was especially fond of hunting with friends and family at the family ranch. He enjoyed camping, hiking, and biking, but was also an avid reader and a movie buff. His interests were many. Don is preceded in death by his parents Sidney and Cynthia Lenora Allen and brothers William, James and Herman Stanley. He is survived by his loving wife of 20 years Julie Elizabeth Hall, his son Adrian Wayne Stanley, son Joshua Aaron and wife Monica Stanley, and daughter Autumn Danielle Salyer. He has four grandchildren: Jacobie and Gabriela Juarez, and Justin and Victoria Salyer. Don will be sorely missed and dearly remembered by his family and friends for his fun-loving spirit, his wit and banter, and his loving, compassionate spirit. A memorial service will be Wednesday May 26, 2021 at Waller-Thornton Funeral Home at 2:00 P.M.
