Donald Ray Stains, Sr. , 81 Jul 20, 1938 - May 31, 2020 Donald Ray Stains, Sr., 81, of Hagerstown, MD, passed away, Sunday, May 31, 2020, at his home. Born Wednesday, July 20, 1938 in Greencastle, PA, he was the son of the late Lloyd Stains and the late Verna Swope Brandenburg. In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by his first wife, Patricia Stains and his granddaughter, Katarina Stains. Donald was a graduate from Hagerstown High School, class of 1955. He then became a State Trooper in Pikesville, MD. Donald later retired as a machinist from Mack Truck. He also worked part-time at Sears in the Automotive department. He was a member of United Auto Workers Union and the Williamsport Red Men Lodge 84. Family was Donald's main focus as well as a maintained lawn. He is survived by his wife, Judy Stains; three sons, Donald "Tuck" Stains, Jr., Michael Stains and wife Pamala, and Greg Stains and wife Tracy; granddaughter whom he had raised, Krystal Stains; two sisters, Faye Seibert, and Bonnie L.Wise and husband Daryl; step-son, Logan Kilmer and wife Andrea; grandchildren, Paige, Christopher, Daniel, Alex, Zachary, Elizabeth, Tobin, and Ava; and great grandchildren, Kristian and Daniel. Services and burial will be private. Interment will be at Rest Haven Cemetery, Hagerstown.
