Donald B. Schildtknecht, Sr. , 75 Apr 10, 1945 - Feb 3, 2021 Halfway, MD - Donald B. Schildtknecht, Sr., 75, of Halfway, MD passed away on Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Cadia Healthcare in Hagerstown, MD.
He was born on April 10, 1945 in Hagerstown, MD to the late Raymond Gordon and Grace Elizabeth Harbaugh Schildtknecht.
He was a graduate of South Hagerstown High School in Hagerstown, MD.
Donald hauled and sold scrap metal with his father for many years.
He was a member of Calvary Temple in Williamsport, MD.
Donald loved working with wood, making birdhouses, and loved gardening.
He was a past member of Hub City Bassmasters and fished in tournaments with his son-in-law Rick Bingaman.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Barbara L. Ward Schildtknecht; son Donald B. Schildtknecht, Jr. and his wife Rhonda of Clear Spring, MD; daughter Teresa Morningstar of Hagerstown, MD; son Michael Schildtknecht and his wife Tammy of Falling Waters, WV; son Bryan Schildtknecht and his wife Brandy of Falling Waters, WV; stepdaughter Donna Hays Bingaman and her husband Rick of Clio, MI; 5 grandchildren; 5 step grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; 9 step great grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a brother Ronald C. Schildtknecht and a stepdaughter Tracy Hays Bailey.
The family will receive friends at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Tuesday, February 9, 2021 from 6:00-8:00 pm. The funeral home will be open after 9:00 am on Tuesday for the convenience of family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at the Osborne Funeral Home, P.A. 425 S. Conococheague St. Williamsport, MD on Wednesday, February 10, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Robert V. Robinson officiating. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Memorial Park Hagerstown, MD.
