Donald Irven Martin

Donald Irven "D I" Martin, 84, of Cumberland, died May 10, 2022 at home.

Born December 14, 1937 in Connellsville, PA, he was the son of the late Irving and Molly (Howard) Martin.

He was also preceded in death by his wife, Wyola Jean Martin and a brother, James R. Martin.

Mr. Martin had served in the U.S. Army.

His railroad career started with the Western Maryland Railroad and he retired from CSX, having been a conductor and brakeman.

In previous years, he attended St. Mark's United Church of Christ. Mr. Martin also belonged to Ft. Cumberland Post #13, American Legion and AARP-Chapter #2400.

Survivors include his two sons, Donnie Martin and life companion Brooke and Danny Martin and wife Diana Lyn; grandchildren, Donovan Irven Martin and wife Jessica and Virginia Lyn Martin and fianc? Tucker Helminiak; great grandson George Wendell Martin; and, several special friends, including Greg and Gina Ratke.

Friends will be received at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, on Monday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, and Tuesday from 10 AM-11 AM.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM in the funeral home, with Pastor Martin Lease, officiating.

Interment will be in Restlawn Memorial Gardens.
