Donald R. (Dick) Hassinger, 97, formerly of Camp Hill, passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2020 at The Middletown Home. He was born on January 1, 1923 in Sunbury, Pennsylvania, a son of the late Charles E. and Emma M. (Conrad) Hassinger. He proudly served in the Army during World War II and was employed by Hall's Motor Transit for forty-five years before retiring in 1981 as Vice-President of Operations country-wide. Dick was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Camp Hill as well as the Masons, American Legion and VFW. He enjoyed golfing, fishing, being a referee for local basketball teams, spending time at his condo in Fort Myers, Florida and visiting with family, friends, and neighbors. Dick married his late wife Janice on April 21, 1946. At the time of Janice's death in 2010, they had been married for sixty-four years. Dick is survived by his daughter Paula Dobrosky and her husband Tom, granddaughter Shonna Bender and her husband Ed, granddaughter Cheryl Bradley, sister Edith Marshall and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by brothers Charles, Kenneth, George, Harold, Robert and Herman and sisters Lorraine, Esther, Joyce, Arita and Ardath. Burial with full Military honors was conducted at Rolling Green Cemetery, Camp Hill. Memorial contributions may be made to the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church General Fund. Funeral arrangements were provided by Myers-Harner Funeral Home.
