Donald Jean Hanson, 89, of North Fort Myers, passed away Saturday, March 26, 2022. He was born February 23, 1933, in Wausa, Nebraska.
He served in the United States Marine Corp. in the early 1950s. After an honorable discharge he returned to California and began working various construction jobs that eventually led him to Florida. He married and had four children. He worked with Florida Rock Industries, had a dump truck and clearing business, and drove a school bus, in Lee County, Florida, before eventually retiring. He enjoyed pool, softball, golf, and maintaining his 30-acre cattle ranch in North Fort Myers.
He is survived by his beautiful wife, Trula M. Hanson; his four children, Donald Lee ("Peewee") Hanson, Sonya Lynne Hanson, Teresa Ann Hanson, Susan Marie Carmichael (Brian); his four beloved grandchildren, Darius ("Derrick") Cody (Kathryn), Cody Urich, Courtney Urich-Migenes (David), Jacob Carmichael (Mariana); four great-grandchildren; his sisters, Beverly Eggen (Don), of Bloomfield, Nebraska, Sharyl Serafin (Walt), of Kansas City, Kansas; his sister-in-law, Vivian Hanson; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. He is predeceased by his father, Ruben Hanson; his mother, Mildred Hanson; his sister Betty McDonald (John); his brother, Lowell Hanson; and his brother-in-law, Laverne Lamprecht.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in memory of Donald Jean Hanson are suggested to Hope Hospice House in Cape Coral, Florida.
A private memorial service will be held at a later date to be determined.
Final arrangements have been entrusted to Neptune Society, Fort Myers.
