Donald B. Hale died Sunday January 31, 2021 at Berkshire Medical center after a short illness. He was born Feb. 9, 1929 at the family home in Tyringham, the son of Arnold B. Hale and Elizabeth B. Loring.
He was educated in the Tyringham School and Lee High School graduating in 1947. After working on the family farm he got a job with Walter Stedman learning the building trade. Eventually he started his own building company until an accident at work rendered him disabled in 1975. He was also the Tax Collector in Tyringham for many years.
In 1995 he attended Berkshire Community College receiving a chef certificate. Upon graduating, he opened up his own restaurant at Sunset Farm in Tyringham.
Donald belonged to the Evening Star Masonic lodge where he was grand Master in 1983 and Eastern Star Lodge A.F. & A.M. in Lee.
He is predeceased by his wife, Mary H. Carter whom he married in 1948; his sister Alice M. Hale and his son A. Stephan Hale. He leaves his daughter Christine Corcoran and her husband William of Lenox Dale, two grandsons, Donald C. Bienvenue (Tara) of Sarasota, FL. and R. Christian Bienvenue (Mazie) of Reno, NV and four great-grandchildren: Mason, Mary, Wren and Roque.
Due to the times, services and burial will be postponed to a future date.
