Obituary for Donald D. Ferrari
Donald D. Ferrari, age 75 of Keyesport, passed away in the early morning hours at the Carlyle Healthcare Center on Thursday, March 16, 2017.
Mr. Ferrari was born in Wilsonville, Illinois on May 30, 1941, a son of Eligio and Eileen (Bishop) Ferrari. He lived his life as a strong Union supporter and worked in trades such as the Machinist Union and the Laborers Union. Don was an avid fisherman, hunter, and outdoorsman. He spent many of his years as a commercial fisherman and enjoyed his time fishing at Grafton and Carlyle Lake.
Don is survived by a son – Donnie Ferrari and wife Maria of Edwardsville; 2 daughters – Gina Gucciardo and husband Bob of Gillespie, and Julie Wehner and husband John of Edwardsville; 5 grandchildren – Austin Ferrari, Taylor and Travis Gucciardo, and Johnny and Joey Wehner; a sister – Nancy Bloemker of Staunton, and 2 nieces – Carmen Ferrari of Springfield and Lisa Reynolds of Gillespie.
A Celebration of Life and lunch will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at the Keyesport American Legion Hall to honor his memory.
Expressions of sympathy in memory of Mr. Ferrari may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice and will be received at Zieren Funeral Home.
