Donald Leroy Beseman, 94, of Bemidji, Minnesota, died on March 23, 2020, in Bellevue, Iowa at Mill Valley Care Center. Memorial Services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, August 1, 2020 at Immanuel Lutheran Church 349 3rd Street N.E. in Case Lake, Minnesota, conducted by Pastor James Sorenson. Family will greet friends 10:00 am until service time at the church prior to services. Inurnment will be in Argo Cemetery in Babbitt, Minnesota.Donald was born on August 18, 1925 in Absaraka, ND to August and Anna Beseman. The family moved to Swanville, MN when he was 5 years old and he attended schools in the area, graduating from Swanville High School in 1946. He helped his parents on the farm until he married Myrtle Rogge on September 15, 1950. In 1955 he moved his family to Babbitt, MN and took a job at Reserve Mining Company from which he retired in 1986. He was involved in forming the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, in Babbitt, MN, to which he remains a charter member. Don's first wife, Myrtle, passed away in February, 1985 from cancer. He married Irene Rose in July, 1986 and moved to Bemidji, MN. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and spending winters in Texas and Arizona and was an avid Minnesota Twins fan.Donald is survived by his daughters: Valerie (Larry) Bovitz, Farmington, ME; Beth (Mark) Rogge, Bellevue, IA; Karen (Kevin) Ostlund, Hutchinson, MN; Diane (David) Vesel, Ely, MN; Pamela (Daniel) Roseth, Cyrus, MN; step-daughter, Peggy (Duane) Lindsay, Bemidji, MN; and several grandchildren and great grandchildren. He is predeceased by his parents; first wife, Myrtle; second wife, Irene; his two brothers, Gordon and Kenneth; and his sister, Adeline.
