Donald Barnhart , 76 Jul 13, 1943 - May 7, 2020 Donald (Don) Milton Barnhart of Martinsburg, WV passed away May 7 at home surrounded by his loved ones. He suffered with Alzheimer's Disease for more than 10 years.
He was the son of Milton and Margie Barnhart of Berkeley Springs. He is survived by his wife of 54 years Constance {Connie} Barnhart, his children Cory (Michelle) Barnhart, Laura Chandler and grandchildren Zakary Kees, Morgan & Alexander Barnhart and Caleb Chandler, His loving sister Nancy Grove and her husband Tom Grove, sisters & brothers in law Linda & Rod Collins and Patricia & Steve Bennett. He is also survived by sisters Shirley Barnhart, Alice Snyder and Mary Clawges and many nieces and nephews.
He was employed for many years by Pangborn in Hagerstown, owned an excavating business and was a Realtor along with his wife for over 30 years with Marlene & Markay Real Estate originally and RE/MAX Real Estate Group of Martinsburg for 25 years. I forgot to mention that he was a veteran who served in the US Air Force as an Air Traffic Controller and was stationed at Ft. Custer Air Force Base in Battle Creek, Michigan where he met his wife Connie. Will you be able to add this to his obituary?
Don was a very talented, soft-spoken and kind man who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was loved by many and had a lot of friends.
The family wishes to thank all of the Home Helpers caregivers who have lovingly helped with his care and made it possible for him to stay in his home. We would also like to thank the Hospice nurses & aides who helped in his last months.
Because of virus concerns the family will have a private celebration of his life and there will be no funeral.
