Franklinton, North Carolina - Donald Wayne Wethington, 75, passed peacefully from his earthly home to his heavenly home on July 19, 2021. Don was born and raised in Durham and a graduate of Durham High School. Don retired from Duke University Health System in 2006 as a Senior Carpenter. Don was the son of the late Ira Mae Russell and Milton Wethington.
Don leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 55 years, Rena Stromsland Wethington of Franklinton; daughters, Kristen Kingsley (husband - Andrew), Penny Vaughan (husband - Mike); 4 granddaughters; sister, Nancy Wethington; and niece, Debbie Tackett; as well as many cousins, close friends and chosen family.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Tally Ho First Baptist Church in Stem. Immediately following the service, the family will receive family and friends in the fellowship hall of the church.
