Don Stewart, of Conyers, passed away Sunday, January 15, 2023 at his home. He was 91 years of age. He was born in Phenix City, AL on June 3, 1931 to the late Anna Stacie (Williamson) and Daniel Fisher Stewart.
Don was a devoted husband of 70 years, loving father, grandfather great grandfather, uncle and friend to many. He never met a stranger. Don was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where he loved to serve his church and the people there. He served as an usher and several capacities over the years. Don enjoyed watching Alabama football, watching all his children play ball as they grew up and he even coached them in softball.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his son, Daniel Patrick Stewart, Sr; daughter, Kelly Reese Stewart; sisters, Lucille Stewart and Thelma Scroggins; brothers, Milton Stewart and Riley Thomas Stewart.
His memory will forever be held close by his loving wife, Beverly Ann Stewart of Conyers; daughter and son-in-law, Stacey Stewart Lowe and Craig Lowe of Jackson; son, Greg Stewart of Eatonton; grandchildren, Fisher Lowe of Jackson, Toni Lowe of Jackson, Reese Lowe of Jackson; Riley and Ricki Stewart of Pensacola, FL, Daniel Patrick, Jr and Jordan Stewart of Eatonton, Sydney and Ken Barre of Marietta, and Ansley and Dustin Woods of Lake Placid, FL; great grandchildren, RJ Stewart of Pensacola, Rhett Stewart of Pensacola, and Lilly Jean Barre of Marietta; daughter-in-law, Catherine Stewart of Monroe; and his dog Bubbie; along with several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Funeral Services for Don will be held Friday, January 20, 2023 at 11 am at Salem United Methodist Church with Rev. David Cott and Asst. Pastor Carol Standard officiating. Interment will follow the service at Salem Historical Cemetery (formerly Salem UMC Church Cemetery). The family will receive friends at the funeral home Thursday, January 19, 2023 from 6pm - 8pm and the body will lie in state one hour prior to the service on Friday.
