Don Paulus was born in the Petoskey on June 2, 1927 and passed away on July 10, 2020 at McLaren Northern Michigan Hospital in Petoskey.
In 1950, he married Joanne Curtiss of Petoskey, who preceded him in death in 2012. Together they had 7 children and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
He started Northern Electric which is still a family owned business after 45 years which was passed from father to son to grandson. He proudly served his country in the US Navy during World War II. Don enjoyed golfing, Wii bowling, boating and fishing and spending time with family and friends. He most recently lived in American House in Petoskey where he made many friends.
Don's seven children are the late Donald J. Paulus, David J. (Vicki) Paulus, Deborah J. (Al) Kimball, Diane J. (Ken) Waldron, Donna J. (Matt) Laforet, Daniel J. (Cheryl) Paulus, and Dennis J. (Jen) Paulus; Grandchildren, Stacy (John) Alexandroski, Matt (Caroline) Paulus, Mike (Amy) Paulus, Chris (Kelly) Chandler, Ken Waldron II, Anna (Mike) Naganashe, Tuesday (Chad) Smith, Dylan Paulus, Devin Paulus; Great-grandchildren, Sander (Taylor) Alexandroski, Brittany (Zak) Bearss, Becca Alexandrowski, Logan (Madison) Paulus, Katie Lepird, Corin, Will, Cara and Kate Paulus, Graham and Lilly Chandler, Brian Warner, Garrison Butterfield and Isabelle Waldron, Nathan, Nick and Gauge Waldron, Nimkii & Autumn Naganashe, Summer Smith; and Great-great-grandchildren, Eli and Jennifer Bearrs, Zachary and Addilynn Paulus and Maria Lepird.
There will be a private family ceremony at the St. Francis cemetery at a later date.
He will be greatly missed but is now able to join his wife Joanne and son Donnie in heaven.
Stone Funeral Home in Petoskey is in care of arrangements.
