Mr. Don Frederick Hyman, age 80, passed away February 18, 2023. He was born on February 10, 1943 in Houston, Texas to Wilson Frederick Hyman and Marjorie Geraldine Holloway.
Mr. Hyman was a resident of Crestview, Florida and Baptist by faith. He graduated from Baylor University receiving his bachelor's degree in Business Administration. He was a veteran of the Vietnam era, serving his country in the United States Air Force for 25 years before retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was an airplane pilot and instructor and was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Air Force Commendation Medal, Air Force Achievement Medal, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, Combat Readiness Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Medal, and Air Force Overseas Short Tour Ribbon. He served as Deputy Commander at Homestead Air Force Base in Homestead, Florida. He was devoted and deeply committed to his family, wife, children, and especially his grandchildren.
Mr. Hyman was preceded in death by his father and mother; and son, Scott Hyman.
Mr. Hyman is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Jane Covington of Crestview; two children, Kimberly Clifford and husband Jeff, Courtney Lovins and husband Allen; four step-children, Todd Covington, Terence Covington, Tammy Cason, Trista Bishop and husband Mike; one sister, Holly Light; fourteen grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date with military honors by the United States Air Force.
