Don Heath passed away on December 25th at his home in North Port, Florida.
He was a graduate of Concord, NH High School and attended Norwich University. He served his country in the US Air Force. Don coached Little League and Babe Ruth teams. He was a player and director for the Concord Sunset Baseball League.
He was a member of the American Legion Post 24, VFW Post 8118, and a member of Saint Paul's Church in Concord.
Don and Ann retired to North Port, Florida in 1989 and spent summers on Winnisquam Lake in NH. He enjoyed playing softball for many years after retirement for the Venice Senior Softball League in Florida.
"Gramps" enjoyed smoking a cigar and drinking margaritas with his grandkids. Tall tales and limericks would soon follow, some even PG. Sharp shooting with bb guns, boat rides and life stories were just some of the joys of being with Gramps. He would go to as many games as he could and he had no problem telling the officials how to do their job. He was their biggest fan and they loved to be around him.
His attitude and character could not be matched, even during his struggles at the end. He will be sorely missed.
Husband, Dad, Gramps, Great Grandad... we all love you.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann, (64 years) of North Port, Florida, two sons, Glen (Betsy) and James, both of Concord, a daughter, Gail (Ernest) of North Port, nine grandchildren, Douglas (Stephanie), Sarah (Steven), Thomas (Jessica), Skyla (Kyle), Shelby, Cameron, Tanner, Rick (Lisa), and Michael, six great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
