Our beloved mother, Dolores Salinas, 92, passed away peacefully at her home, on Tuesday, April 20, 2021 in Alice, TX. She was born on October 13, 1928 to Marcos Olivarez and Lillie (Gonzalez) Olivarez in Bishop, Texas.
Helping others always came naturally to Dolores, whether it be at work, with family, or with friends. Dolores was employed in retail a few years in Alice, Texas. She later was employed caring for the elderly with Schelsingers Home Healthcare, then later with South Texas Home Health until retirement.
Dolores captured our hearts with her unconditional love and her beautiful smile. Family and friends described Dolores as loyal, loving, energetic, and always available for them at a moments notice. She loved hosting that afternoon cup of coffee or a glass of her famous iced tea.
Dolores was preceded in death by her husband, Mike Salinas; parents; two brothers, Hilario Olivarez and Robert Olivarez; and one sister Petra Olivarez Gonzalez.
Left behind to cherish her memories are her children, Linda Ann (Larry) Hufford of San Antonio, TX; and Michael Robert (Ana Laura) Salinas of Laredo, TX; one sister-in-law, Aurora Salinas of Orange Grove, TX; four grandchildren, Lisa (Roy) Salinas of San Antonio, TX, Michael (Anna) Salinas, Jr. of Laredo, TX, Marcos Salinas also of Laredo, TX, and Ewa Kristina (John) Hufford/Rule of Cincinnati, OH; eight great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous loving nieces and nephews.
We extend a Heartfelt "Thank You" to the following nurses, Margie Flores RN, Maria Martinez, Sierra Bazan, and Esmeralda Cuellar from Angel Bright Hospice for giving exceptional medical and personal care. Our Mother loved you all.
We will forever be grateful to our mother's personal homecare providers, Graciela Vivanco, Brenda Martinez, and Cristina Perez for the exceptional care, love, and devotion to our mother. She loved them all.
