Dolores Mendez, 60, of Lubbock, passed away on Friday, April 23, 2021. She was born May 21, 1960 in Lorenzo, Tx to the late Gregorio and Elisa (Chavarria) Medellin, Sr. Dolores married Tony Mendez on December 15, 1996 here in Lubbock, and they began their journey in life together. She worked many years as a nursing assistant, but in her spare time, she loved to enjoy time with her family especially playing with her grandkids. Dolores also enjoyed cooking, and crocheting. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and sister.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Tony; son, Matthew Branch; siblings, Lupe Vasquez, Janie Lara, Ben Medellin, Sr., Greg Medellin, Jr. , Anita Medellin, and Selia Medellin; and two grandchildren.
Dolores is preceded in death by her parents, and a son, Tony Mendez, Jr.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 30, 2021 from 11 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. with rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. at House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Celebration of life service will be at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. May 1, 2021 at the House of Angels Funeral Home Chapel. Cremation services under the direction of House of Angels Funeral Home, Lubbock, Texas.
