Dolores Parma Lovvorn was born in Ennis, TX on Christmas Eve, the younger of two daughters to her parents, George H. Parma and Agnes Jurik Parma. She passed away, peacefully, at her residence in Lubbock on Monday, July 12, 2021.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Eileen Parma Mitchell; and brother-in-law, Robert L. Mitchell.
Dolores grew up in Ennis and graduated from St. John High School where she was an organist at St. John Church. She attended Navarro College in Corsicana, SMU in Dallas, and graduated from Braniff International Hostess College in Dallas. For the next five years, she enjoyed serving as a hostess for Braniff Airlines.
She then made her home in Abilene where she delighted in raising her daughters, serving as an organist for the church, teaching Sunday School, and assisting as a Brownie Leader. In later years, she volunteered for the West Texas Rehabilitation Phonathon, served as a Greeter at her church, and enjoyed playing the piano for retirement centers and nursing homes, especially during the Christmas season.
Survivors include her daughters, Lisa Renee Lovvorn, and Lauri Michelle Lovvorn, both of Lubbock, TX; aunt, Adail Parma of Ennis; one niece; two nephews; many cousins and friends.
Services will be at The Church of Heavenly Rest, 602 Meander St., Abilene, TX 79602 on Monday, July 26, 2021 at 4:00 p.m. with the Reverend Doug Thomas officiating. Inurnment will be in the Columbarium by the church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to The Church of Heavenly Rest or charity of your choice.
