Dolores V. Gant, 91, went to be with the Lord on January 19, 2023. She is preceded in death by her mother and father Virginia and John Chaudier, husband Thomas W. Gant, son John Gant, daughter and her husband Ginger and Bobby Grant, brothers James "Frenchie" Chaudier, John Chaudier, and William "Billy" Chaudier. She is survived by her stepson Tommy Gant and his wife Jeanette, sister Jeanine Harris, brother Oran Chaudier and his wife Sandy, and grandson Matthew Gant.
She was born in Houston, Tx., upon marriage moved to Manvel, Tx., and later settled in Pearland, Tx. She lived her life to the fullest, always generously giving of her time, talents and energy to her friends, family and community. She worked in Houston for A T & T (Bell Telephone) where she met her husband, Tommy. She later worked as an appraiser for the Harris County Appraisal District. She proudly served for several years as Director of Region One of the Texas Citizen Police Academy Alumni (CPAAA) along with the local Pearland CPA for which she won several awards. She also served as a long-time chair of the CPA's benevolence committee. She loved her pets, dogs and cats were always a part of her life. She looked after and cared for her family and friends when they were ill. She enjoyed travelling, going on cruises, playing bingo (winning quite often) and playing the slot machines at casinos. She has left behind a legacy of love, kindness, and service to others. She will be dearly missed.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., Peevey Funeral Home, 12440 Beamer Rd., Houston, Tx.
