Dolores Anne Chavan ("D" and "Nana" as she was affectionately known) 86 of Myrtle Beach, SC (Formerly of Cliffwood NJ & Morganville NJ) passed away peacefully at home with family Wednesday October 26,2022.
Dolores was born in Newark, NJ, attended Matawan High School, and married the love of her life Edward F. Chavan in 1955. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother and Nana who brought love, laughter, and joy to all who knew her.
In addition to being a homemaker she was a NJ State licensed Realtor/broker; worked as an administrative assistant at Marlboro State Hospital and the NJ State Police. She assisted as a team mother for Marlboro Little League Baseball, Marlboro Pop Warner Football and Marlboro High School Football programs for many years as her children played through the system. After relocating she was a longtime Volunteer Coordinator for the Myrtle Beach Senior Center and made many friends during her time there.
Mom and Dad fell in love with the Myrtle Beach area after vacationing there for many years and moved to the beach permanently in 1999. Nana loved her beach, collecting shells and shark teeth and watching her children and grandchildren play in the sand and surf.
Dolores was predeceased by her parents; her husband and partner Edward F. Chavan; and brother Patrick. Surviving are three sons: Edward of Keyport, NJ; Christopher of Morganville, NJ; and Jon of Cookstown, NJ; daughter Sherri, Son-in law Patrick Beauchamp of Myrtle Beach SC; a sister Joan McCrum of Myrtle Beach, SC, 8 grandchildren: Chris, Mike, Erin, Scott, Cory and Sean Chavan, Nick and Shane Beauchamp, and longtime dear friend Judy Forster of Myrtle Beach, SC.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Nana's care givers Leslie Santagati and Pruitt Hospice C.N.A Vanessa Singletary. Cremation service was private.
A celebration of life will be determined at a later date.
