Dianna Ruth O'Mary McCoig age 81 of Heiskell, Tennessee, formerly of Knoxville, TN and Tinley Park, IL, passed away in the early hours of Saturday, May 15th, 2021. She was married to Bobby James McCoig celebrated sixty-four years of marriage on December 25, 2019. He and Ruth enjoyed traveling. Visiting nearly all 50 states and Canada. Ruth was a member of Grace Baptist Church in Karns. She was very passionate about helping others and volunteered at Fort Sanders Children's Hospital, participated in The ALS Association's Walk to Defeat ALS in Nashville, as well as other charities to benefit the less fortunate.
Ruth retired from Zellweger Uster in Knoxville, TN and was a member of the Local Sheet Metal Workers Union.
For 20 years Ruth and Husband Bob owned and operated the Seven Acre Flea Market and Auction in South Clinton, TN.
Ruth is preceded in death by her husband of sixty four years, Bobby James McCoig and survived by her three sons and one daughter, son and daughter in law, Bobby James "Jim" McCoig Jr. (Laura) of Glen Allen, VA; son and daughter in law, Mike McCoig (Denise) of Walkertown, NC; daughter and son in law Teresa (McCoig) Lucke (George) of Heiskell, TN; and son and daughter in law Dan McCoig (Janet) of Roanoke, VA; Nine grandchildren, Cory McCoig, Dustin McCoig, Jamie Happney, Austin McCoig, Lindsey McCoig, Heather (McCoig) Tarr, Molly McCoig, Jordan Lucke, and Sam McCoig; great grandchildren, Tesla Lucke and Jameson Happney. Brother Hugh O'Mary of Knoxville, TN, and Sister Betty Byrn of Knoxville, TN. Sister in - Law Mary McCoig Scarborough, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She made a beautiful imprint on all that she touched and we are all so very fortunate to have known her.
Family and friends gathered for Ruth and Bobby's memorial at Berry Highland Memorial in Knoxville on Saturday May 22, 2021 at 11 AM.
