Diann Ravsten Griffiths
June 11, 1934 - January 2, 2022
Our beloved mother Diann (87) passed away peacefully at The Lodge in North Ogden after a valiant battle with Alzheimers. She was born June 11, 1934 in Clarkston, Utah to John Byron and Elva Stella Ravsten.
As a young girl, Diann loved to help on the farm by taking the cows to and from the pasture on her favorite horse Merry Legs. She learned to cook, crochet, sew, and embroider. Most of all, she loved to read. Diann graduated from North Cache High School and then attended LDS Business College. She was well-recognized for her speed and accuracy in typing and shorthand.
Diann and her late husband, Michael Joseph Griffiths, both loved to dance and met at a Gold and Green Ball in Clarkston. They were married June 1, 1953 in the Logan Utah temple. Shortly thereafter, Michael left to serve in the Army and was stationed in Germany. Although it was a very frightening adventure, Diann and her 9-month-old son, Michael Jay, flew to New York City and then traveled to Germany by ship to be with him.
After their return to the US, their second son, Stanley, was born. In 1960, Diann and Michael moved to North Ogden and soon had a home built, which is the home they lived in for the remainder of their lives. Three daughters were born?Sharon, Lisa, and Sharlene?and life was full of happiness and blessings.
Diann immersed herself in genealogical research and worked diligently to gather family records and life stories. She taught many classes to help others who wanted to do the same, as well as classes on food storage and emergency preparedness. She was a very active and a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served as a Primary president, Relief Society counselor, and for many years as a temple worker at the Ogden Temple.
Diann's family will always remember her famous homemade rolls, jams, and cinnamon rolls. She loved and was devoted to spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Diann taught by example how to serve others by noticing those who were in need.
Diann is survived by her four children, as well as 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, and two great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her son Stanley in 1970, as well as her loving husband of 68 years. Diann and Mike lived an exemplary life of love and devotion to God and family, and we will miss them both. We take great comfort in knowing their kindred spirits are together again.
The family would like to thank the wonderful staff at The Lodge at North Ogden for their loving care in Diann's last months, as well as the staff at Inspiration Home Health.
