Diane (Fagan) Phinney, age 85, of Frisco, Texas passed away on September 27, 2022. She was born January 29, 1937, in Erie, Pennsylvania. Diane was raised in Erie and later married Donald A. Lynch of Clearfield, PA. The couple divorced but remained friends. Diane earned her Master of Arts from NYU while studying both in the USA and England. In 1981, Diane married Bruce Phinney of Portland, Maine. Diane lived in Frisco since early 2017, coming from Surprise, AZ.
Before retirement, she spent a lifetime as a well respected teacher in both the United States and Japan. She loved travel, reading, genealogy, stage acting and attending lifelong learning courses.
Diane is survived by her son Steven Lynch (Annette) of Maui HI, and her daughters Gail Modic (Brian) of Frisco, TX, and Amy Kryak (Don) of Port Saint Lucie, FL, six grandchildren: Kristin Modic Gaston (Mark), Amanda Modic, Ariel Lynch, Kyle Kryak Rose (Chrissy), Donovan Kryak, Kellan Kryak, and one great-granddaughter.
She is preceded in death by her father, Vincent Jacob Fagan, her mother Elizabeth (Betty) Emma Hitch, sister Virginia (Ginny) Noyd, husband Bruce Phinney, great-granddaughter Sierra Lynch and great-grandson, Lincoln Oliver Gaston
Diane will be remembered for her wit and intelligence, kindness and generosity.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to your local library or community theatre.
