Diane Rose Barimo (Yunis), born in Detroit Michigan, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones after a 12 year battle with breast cancer.
She is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, William S. Barimo, her sons William, Ronald (Linda), Lawrence (Ana), and Steven (Diana). Grandchildren, Lawrence (Gail), Elise, Taylor, Sarah, Steven, Rachel, Daniel, and Danielle Barimo. She was predeceased by her parents John and Margeruite Yunis; sibling, Theresa (Camille deceased) Gilbert; survived by her siblings Dolores (Sammie deceased) Sirgany, Shirley (Bobby) Yoham, Michael (Laure) Yunis; sister-in-laws Frances Fassbach, Marie Diehl, and numerous nieces, nephews and many relatives and dear friends.
Diane’s passion was her church “Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church” in Miami, of which she was a founding member. She served her church faithfully for over forty years, serving as president of the Ladies Sodality for 12 years. She received the Massabki Medal for outstanding service to her church in 1990. Her other passion was Our Lady of the Rosary Makers, which for many years she lovingly made over 5,000 rosaries that were distributed to many clergy and churches she visited in the United States and Europe.
A Rosary service will be recited at 11 AM on June 18th 2022, followed by a funeral mass 11:30 AM, both at Our Lady of Lebanon Catholic Church, 2055 Coral Way, Miami, Fl. 33145, with burial following at Woodlawn North Cemetery 3260 S.W. 8th St. Miami, Fl. 33135. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Our Lady of Lebanon Maronite Catholic Church”, 2055 Coral Way, Miami, Fl. 33145.
