Derek A. Nestich, age 49, of Sister Lakes, died unexpectedly on Monday August 1, 2022.
Friends may visit with Derek's family from 12:00 pm - 2:00 pm with a Memorial Services beginning at 2:00 PM on Friday, Aug. 12, at Sister Lakes Community Church, 67119 M-152, Dowagiac. Immediately following services friends and family will be celebrating Derek's life at Sister Lakes Lions Club, 66991 95th Ave, Dowagiac. Memorial contributions in Derek's memory may be directed to Countryside Academy Athletic Fund.
Derek was born on January 19, 1973, in Mount Clemens, Michigan, the son of Ronald and Ruth (Roadpoouch) Nestich. In 1991, he graduated from Chippewa Valley High School, Clinton Twp., MI. Derek continued his education, earning his Bachelor's degree from Western Michigan University in 1996. He worked as the Athletic Director, coach and physical education teacher at Countryside Academy in Benton Harbor, where he was employed for the past 23 years.
Surviving are his wife, Jodi Nestich; their daughter: Lily Nestich; mother: Ruth Nestich of Clinton Twp, MI; brother: Stephen (Tammy) Nestich of Hobart, IN; and numerous extended family and friends.
