North Liberty - Denny "Reno" Wyant, 65, passed away after a courageous 3 year battle with cancer on Friday, August 10, 2018 at Hospice House with his family by his side.
Denny was born January 15, 1953 in LaPorte, Indiana to the late Donald and Alice (Bradford) Wyant. Denny was also preceded in death by a sister-in-law, Patricia Wyant.
On October 26, 1974 in Colfax, IL Denny married the love of his life Eileen (McGowan) Wyant, she survives along with their children, Kelly (Erik) Stenke of Sheridan, IN, Amy (Patrick) Carpenter of South Bend, IN and Donald (Brittany) Wyant of Montgomery, AL; grandchildren, Evan, Ethan, Todd, Avery and Blake; sisters, Shirley (Kenneth) Kesler, Sharon (Roger) Kesler; brothers, Fred (Bonnie) Wyant, Edward Wyant; several beloved nieces and nephews; and friends that he considered family in North Dakota. Denny also helped mentor many young lives whom he considered his own children.
Denny was a lifelong farmer for Elmer Gumz Farm, Operations Manager at Liberty Tire Recycling and a salesman at Williams Expert Pivot and Pump. He was a founding member and President of the River Valley Sportsman's Club, Crumstown Conservation Club, and a lifetime member of the N.R.A. Denny was an avid conservationist. He was instrumental in bringing the Bob White quail and river otter back to Indiana. Denny was also a parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Walkerton.
Denny loved hunting, fishing, and archery. Most of all, he loved family gatherings.
Denny always had a smile and a great sense of humor. And no matter where Denny was, he always made a friend after every handshake.

A Gathering for Denny will be Wednesday, August 15, 2018 from 2:00 pm to 8:00 pm in ST. JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Rd. with a Rosary to be prayed 5:30 pm. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 16, 2018 at 3:00 pm in St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 801 Tyler Street, Walkerton, IN 46574. Burial will follow at Crumstown Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, Memorial Contributions may be directed to Operation Troop Appreciation, 1200 Lebanon Rd., Unit 510, West Mifflin, PA 15122.
