Dennis L. Shelton April 6, 1951 - July 4, 2022 Millstadt , Illinois - Dennis L. Shelton, 71, of Millstadt, IL, born Friday, April 6, 1951, in Belleville, IL, passed away Monday, July 4, 2022 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in Saint Louis, MO surrounded by family and loved ones. Dennis was a life-long union member for United Mine Workers of America, Local 2295 and Teamsters Local 50. He loved his family more than anything, especially his five beloved grandchildren. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved being outdoors. Dennis enjoyed teaching his grandchildren everything he knew. Put him in a boat or a bass tournament and that is where he was happiest. Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Russell C. Shelton, Sr.. Surviving are his loving wife of 50 years, Linda "Lynn" Shelton of Millstadt, IL, mother, Dorothy M. Shelton of Maryville, IL, children, Tracey (Ryan) Hayes of Columbia, IL, Wendy (Kory) Joyce of Fairview Heights, IL, honorary son, Marty (Kati) Hrabusicky of Millstadt, IL; brothers, Russell C. Shelton, Jr. of New Athens, IL, Richard (Jeanne) Shelton of Belleville, IL, Bruce (Lynne) Shelton of Smithton, IL, Jim (Teresa) Shelton of Paragould, AR, Keith (Sandy) Shelton of Pittsboro, IN; grandchildren, Brooke Lynn-Marie Hayes, Landon Shelton-Lee Joyce, Carter Paul Hayes, Bennett Edward Joyce, Kolton Michael Joyce; many dear nieces, nephews, friends, and fur-baby Zoe "Weezer".
