Dennis Willard Engle , 77 Jul 24, 1943 - Jun 23, 2021 Dennis (Denny) Willard Engle passed away June 23, 2021 peacefully at his home with his most prized possession, his family. He was born on July 24, 1943 the son of the late Willard and Gladys Engle. He was proceeded in death by son Ryan Engle.
Denny is survived by his loving wife of 31 years Debbie, a daughter Daphne Snyder and husband Rodney and their daughter Emily all of Cumberland, MD, son Philip Mallow and his daughters Paige and Alexis of Hedgesville, WV, son Matthew Mallow and son Gabriel of Hagerstown, MD, and also his little yorkie chair buddies Mickey and Megan.
He graduated from Allegany High School in 1961 and followed by attending Allegany Community College. Denny worked for LaVale Sanitary Commission as Maintenance Supervisor. He also served as a lieutenant for the LaVale volunteer fire department. In 1977 he took a new position with Washington County Water and Sewer department where he worked for over 35 years, retiring in 2011. He held the position as supervisor of construction as well as the assistant supervisor of maintenance. He served on numerous committees with the WCSD over the years. In retirement he was also a member of several boards and committees at Meritus Medical Center.
He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He was an avid fisherman. Denny found great reward in completion of a project whether building a piece of furniture or the landscaping around his home, no project was ever considered done unless it was perfect. There was no such thing as good enough, he was a perfectionist in every task he undertook.
He found great joy in sharing time with family and friends some of which include long time friends Jim and Teresa Bishop. Former classmates Tom Cecil, Dick Easton, Buddy Galford, Ray Humbertson.
Debbie would like to thank her son Philip for always putting their needs ahead of his, it didn't matter when, where, or how!! She would also like to thank her sister and brother-in-law Patty and Rusty Hensel for all the love and support over all these years.
Services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
